COP31 Antalya, Italian Pavilion: Who Owns the Climate Story?
Panel with Fondazione Sorella Natura and CMCC at the Italian Pavilion of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security
ForestSync, the Norwegian startup representing Norway at COP31, joins Fondazione Sorella Natura and the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) at the Italian Pavilion for a panel on who owns the climate story: how climate claims become trusted, how carbon removal is measured and proven, and what civil society, science and a public carbon exchange each bring to that trust.

COP31 Antalya, Italian Pavilion: Carbon Farming and Carbon Removal in Italy
From skills to certified supply chains, with ICHAR, Confagricoltura, the University of Tuscia and CMCC
ForestSync, the Norwegian startup representing Norway at COP31, takes part in the 90-minute session on carbon farming and carbon removal in Italy at the Italian Pavilion, with the Italian Biochar Association (ICHAR), Confagricoltura, the University of Tuscia and CMCC, opened by a keynote from Prof. Riccardo Valentini. The session follows the chain from skills on the farm to certified supply chains: biochar and nature-based removals, the EU certification framework for carbon removals, and how verified credits reach buyers through a transparent market.

Oslo Innovation Week 2026
Powering, Pricing, Proving: the innovation stack of the energy transition
On 21 October 2026 ForestSync and the Embassy of Italy in Norway hosted Powering, Pricing, Proving at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Oslo, part of the official Oslo Innovation Week programme, with the Italian Trade Agency and the Nordic Carbon Removal Association. Ambassador Andrea Cavallari opened the evening ahead of COP31 in Antalya. Three panels, moderated by Giulia Marzetti, followed the energy transition from power to proof: ocean energy with Equinor, SINTEF Energi, Hydrakraft and RSE; market infrastructure for carbon removal with ForestSync CEO Sean Capon, Removr, Carbon Centric and Advokatfirmaet Thommessen; and the evidence, with Prof. Riccardo Valentini (CMCC, Nature 4.0) and Fondazione Sorella Natura. Sean Capon made the case for building the carbon removal procurement market now, on a public exchange with an open order book and settlement that closes the gap between payment and delivery, rather than in 2031 when the European Union intends to start buying permanent removals at scale. Second year running, Norwegian and Italian innovation in the same room, on the same problem.

COP17 Yerevan: Next-Gen Citizen Science
Showcasing inclusive wins, empowering the Global South and charting the future of environmental data
ForestSync and Carbonomex, the Norwegian startup representing Norway at COP17, the UN Biodiversity Conference in Yerevan, took the stage at the side event Next-Gen Citizen Science on 27 October 2026: Giulia Marzetti, of Carbonomex and Fondazione Sorella Natura and an EU Climate Pact Ambassador, spoke alongside Austin Mast (Citizen Science Global Partnership, Florida State University), Martin Brocklehurst (EU Climate Pact Ambassador), Garabet Kazanjian (American University of Armenia), Fatima El-aaraby (CBD Women's Caucus) and Pablo López Guijosa (Urban Biodiversity Hub), with Ram Dayal Vaishnav and Anukriti Sharma facilitating. About half of the 365 indicators of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework could use citizen-collected data, yet that data rarely reaches national monitoring. The session showed what citizen science already delivers for conservation, how communities in the Global South fill data gaps with low-cost tools, how women, youth and Indigenous Peoples widen the legitimacy of monitoring, and the path from community observations to national reporting. For ForestSync the link is direct: community monitoring and supply-chain transparency are forest monitoring and MRV, and a credit for nature is only as good as the record behind it.

COP17 Yerevan: Evidence Before Price
What market design research says about scaling finance for nature, and who wins when nature credits scale
ForestSync, the Norwegian startup representing Norway at COP17, the UN Biodiversity Conference in Yerevan, hosted the roundtable Evidence Before Price at the Academia and Research Organisations Hub on 26 October 2026, with Fondazione Sorella Natura and Imperial College London. Nittha Sucharitakul of Imperial College London presented the research: a systematic review of nature-credit case studies against two requirements, effectiveness and equity, asking how well schemes deliver the outcomes they promise and who gains when nature credits scale. Sean Capon, CEO of ForestSync, and Giulia Marzetti, Fondazione Sorella Natura, took the findings to market design: what has to be proven before a price is put on nature, and how a public exchange with an open order book and a verifiable record of every credit keeps the evidence ahead of the price.

Oslo Innovation Week 2025
Can forests save our planet? 3 Ts enabling net-zero, tomorrow
Each attendee will receive 1 ton of CO2 to compensate, for 100+ years, their participation at the Oslo Innovation Week. This is the first fully carbon-negative event, setting a new standard for sustainability in the conference industry.

COP30 Belém - CDR30 Pavilion
3Ts Setting Standards for CDR: Transparency, Traceability and Transmissibility
ForestSync hosted a session at the CDR30 Pavilion during COP30, presenting our approach to reshaping the Voluntary Carbon Market through three key pillars: Transparency of transactions, Traceability of credits, and Transmissibility of information from B2B to B2B2C. The session explored how we will lead the market transformation over the next 10-25 years, impacting consumption habits and enabling better climate action dissemination to end consumers. The event was livestreamed globally on the Negative Emissions Platform YouTube channel, reaching audiences beyond the Blue Zone attendees.
